The American Swedish Institute | Male Chorus

The chorus is taking a well-deserved summer break following a busy 2013-2014 season. Join us in the fall for another season of exuberant Swedish singing. The highlight of our fall season will be the American premiere of Den Oändliga Resan (The Endless Journey), a folk opera about the Swedish immigrant experience composed by Lennart Johansson of Luleå Sweden which had its premiere last year to excellent reviews both in Luleå and Stockholm. Now Lennart is bringing the touring company of the opera to Minneapolis for five performances in October. For those performances the company from Sweden will be joined by four local choirs, The ASI Male Chorus, the ASI Cloudberries, Flickorna Fem, and the St. Paul Swedish Male Chorus. See our schedule page for the dates and locations of the performances.

The Male Chorus of the American Swedish Institute of Minneapolis began in 1936. Our goal is to preserve our Swedish heritage and contribute to the culture of our Minnesota community. The Chorus has performed nationally and internationally, as well as throughout Minnesota. Learn more...
